Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as (Wizkid) is a Nigerian afrobeat singer and songwriter, born on 16th July 1990 at surulere, lagos Nigeria.The superstar grew up in an interfaith household with twelve female siblings. He attended his elementary and secondary education in surulere, Lagos. Wizkid started singing at the age of eleven when he formed a group named the glorious five with couple of his Church friends, during his upbringing; he listened to songs recorded by King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti, and Bob Marley.

The super star later met OJB Jezreel a record producer who prevented him for recording for a year. He watched 2Face idibiarecord songs for his Grass 2 Grace album. While visiting OJB’s Point beat studios, he mentioned Neato C as one of the people who mentored and coached him when he was 15 years old.

In an interview with Factory 78 TV Wizkid said his parents weren’t receptive of his music from the onset. But he insisted in working hard and spending lots of time in the studio, he worked with Naeto C, OJB Jazreel, Ikechukwu and Mi in 2009, Wizkid signed a record deal with Banky W’s Empire Mate Entertainment in 2009, he dropped out of Lagos state university (LASU) to focus on his career in the middle of 2009, he later attended Lead City University but later drop.

The super star release his debut album superstar under Empire Mate Entertainment in 2009 which produced hit track “Holla at your Boy” as the album lead single. The song earn him Next Rated Award at The Headies 2011, and was nominated for Best Pop Single at the aforementioned awards show., On 2 April 2010, Wizkid released “Tease Me/Bad Guys” as the album second single. The song was initially released as freestyle. “Don’t Dull” the album’s third single, was released on 6 December 2010.

Wizkid collaborated with a wide range of music producers, including E-Kelly, Jay Sleeks, Shizzi, DJ Klem, Q-Beats Masterkraft and Samklef.

The superstar second album Ayo was released in September 2014 under his Own Starboy Entertainment with six single comprises of “Jaiya Jaiye”“on Top your Matter”“One Question”, and “Joy”“Bombay” and “Show you the Money”.

Wizkid has collaborated with several other artists and was featured on the “Girl” with Bracket, “Fine Lady” with Lynxx, “Sexy Mama” with Iyanya, “The Matter” with Maleek Berry and so many more.

In 2016, Wizkid achieved international recognition following his collaboration with Drake on the Global Hit, “One Dance” which reached number one in 15 countries including United State, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

The superstar has made uncountable remark in Nigerian Music Industry, Africa and the world at Large.
